Restore Your Oral Health With Periodontal Procedures
If you have loose teeth, bleeding gums, or other symptoms of gum disease, you must come in for an oral evaluation for periodontal treatment as soon as possible. He may also recommend a gum grafting or bone grafting procedure when necessary.
Treat Loose Teeth, Bleeding Gums, and Gum Disease
Scaling And Root Planing
We often treat early periodontal disease with scaling and root planing therapy. This procedure can reduce periodontal pocket depths by eliminating plaque and tartar buildup below the gum line. There is no cure for periodontal disease, but we can improve your condition and help you save your teeth. We can restore your oral health with this periodontal treatment.
Osseous Surgery
Also known as flap surgery, osseous surgery may be needed to help patients with moderate or advanced periodontal disease. We can reduce pocket depths and smooth the bone and root surfaces with osseous surgery. In some cases, a bone graft can be performed in conjunction with osseous surgery. We will need to trim some of the gum tissue in order to remove diseased areas.
Gum Grafting
Gum recession can increase the incidence of root sensitivity, cavities on the root surfaces, and root damage. Dr. Moore may recommend a gum graft to restore the gum line and enhance the appearance of your smile. He may use a connective tissue graft, free gingival graft, or pedicle graft technique to perform this procedure.
Bone Grafting
Bone loss begins to occur immediately after tooth loss and can affect jaw bone health over time. If you have lost bone because of tooth loss or periodontal disease, Dr. Moore may perform a bone augmentation or bone grafting procedure to replace bone tissue. Some patients undergoing a dental implant procedure may also need to receive a bone graft.
Periodontal Maintenance
Keep your gums healthy and maintain optimal oral health after gum disease treatment with periodontal maintenance appointments. Periodontal maintenance can help prevent the progression of gum disease. With this program, you will receive frequent maintenance cleanings and periodontal evaluations to prevent periodontal pockets from recurring.
